MacWorld 2007 Predictions

Many bloggers already started throwing their predictions on what’s going to be
unvealed by Steve on January 9th in his MacWorld 2007 keynote.

I’m feeling lazy today so I will just throw a few keywords here:

  • Leopard release date
  • iTV
  • iPhone / no iPhone
  • iLife / iWork ‘07
  • 8-core mac pro
  • Macbook Pro redesign
  • Blue-Ray drives
  • Smaller Macbooks (12″)
  • Widescreen touch sensitive iPods
  • The one more thing

For those who will assist to MacWorld, go there: www.sharemacworld.com

2007 is around the corner!

Just a few hours left for me (6 hours to go!).
Some of us like prasys in Malaysia already celebrated the New Year.

I’m glad to see so many visitors on my blog even for the New Year’s Eve! Those are the real geeks :-)

Just wanted to wish everybody who visited my blog a Happy New Year!
Let’s pop the champagne!

See you in 2007 !

XAR – *NEW* MacOS X 10.5 package format

New package format in MacOS X 10.5 implemented by Apple.
They chose XAR.

Seems they made the decision a few months ago, but it’s finally implemented in the last seed of MacOS X 10.5.

The latest release seeded to developers has the xar tool and libxar.

Package Maker and Installer have been adapted to create and install packages using the xar format (respectively). Should we expect a major update of Pacifist software soon?

New Parallels beta 2 vs public VMWare beta

Ho ho ho … Look at those gifts Santa left us under the Christmas tree.

VMWare Fusion Beta: Download here

So VMWare released a beta to the public but even if you had the private
version, you should grab this public release, as its a completely new build!

Parallels New Beta 2: Download here

The cool stuff about this update are:

– USB 2.0 support
– Now you can burn CDs and DVDs from the virtual machine.
– Improved coherence mode
– Better Boot camp support!
– NTFS partition supported now!
– No Windows re-activation each time you switch between Boot Camp and Parallels

And many more…!

The boot camp feature is still grayed out on OSX86.
Still need to find a workaround for those GUID partitions required.
